ACC Basketball Season Heats up This Weekend

College Basketball

12:00 PM Virginia Tech (10-7, 2-4) @ Boston College (7-9, 2-4)

Line: VT -6.5 Total: 129

Virginia Tech comes in looking for their 3rd straight win, coming off a 62-59 win over NC State while BC lost to Louisville 67-54 in their last outing. BC started the season strong at home going 6-0 but have lost their last 3 there. This is the 2nd of a 3 game road stretch for VT. Big difference here is 3 pt shooting for VT vs a BC defense that is ranked #320 in opponents 3 pt percentage. A battle at the bottom of the ACC but one of these teams is trending in the right direction: PLAY VT -6.5

12:00 PM Syracuse (9-9, 3-4) @ Duke (14-3, 4-2)

Line: Duke -13.5 Total: 157.5

Duke is coming off a tough 79-78 loss to Florida State. How do the Blue Devils bounce back? History shows this is a “feel bad for who they play next” scenario but the injury to Trevor Keels looms large. Keep an eye on his status. If he is out, Syracuse becomes very dangerous. Duke star Paulo Bancero did not get a shot off the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half vs FSU. Look for Duke to get him the ball early and often against the Orange. What to watch: Syracuse player Jesse Edwards must stay out of foul trouble against Mark Williiams. Williams went for 18 & 11 last year in this matchup. The Orange have an advantage on the boards but Edwards has to be in the game. Look for a high scoring game and for Buddy Boeheim to see multiple Blue Devils guarding him. This is not the normal Syracuse zone defense as they are ranked #322 in opponents scoring and Duke averages 82 pts a game. PLAY: Lean to the over. Again watch for the status of Trevor Keels

2:00 PM Florida State (12-5, 5-2) @ Miami (14-4, 6-1)

Line: Miami -3 Total: 147

Battle of Florida schools at the top of the ACC. Miami has been red hot, only losing once since November and coming off a thrashing of UNC. The Canes are 5-1 ATS their last 6, 8-0 SU last 8 at home, and 9-1 ATS the last 10 vs ACC opponents. What was that last loss? 10 days ago

vs FSU, a 65-64 Seminole win. Florida State is off the big win over Duke and had a potential let down game Thursday vs North Florida. FSU won that 86-73. This is the Seminoles’ 3rd game in 6 days. They have won 5 in a row, have won 8 games in a row vs Miami but they are 1-6 ATS last 7 on the road. Miami is out for revenge and 3 games in 6 days is a thought task. PLAY: Miami -3
